The third edition of MEREMA (MElting and fluid/melt-rock REactions in the MAntle), the International School on Mantle Petrology will take place in the charming village of Volterra (Tuscany) located in the heart of the region, about sixty km southeast of Pisa.

The MEREMA 3rd Edition aims to assess the current state of knowledge on the structure, chemical composition, and dynamics of the Earth’s mantle as an integrated system, drawing on data from the different disciplines (petrology, geochemistry and geophysics).
5th EMAW
Dates to be announced - Sopron (Hungary) 2027

Following the five successful Earth Mantle Workshop (EMAW) conferences held in Ferrara (2007), Wrocław (2015), Pavia (2018), Toulouse (2022), and Vienna (2025), the next meeting will take place in Sopron, Hungary, in 2027, hosted by the HUN-REN Institute of Earth Physics and Space Science.
The international conference aims to bring together Earth scientists with diverse scientific backgrounds and experience from around the world, fostering the exchange of new ideas, concepts, and techniques in the fields of mantle geology, geochemistry, and geophysics, from the tectonic scale all the way to the nanoscale. In addition to providing a platform for scientific discussion, the conference will also address topics highly relevant to society, including research on economically important elements, deep-rooted geohazards, and deeply sourced fluid fluxes that can reach the Earth’s surface.
